Kat's initial injuries and current condition

As you know, Kat was injured early in the morning of 9/12 in a motorcycle accident. She was admitted to the trauma unit in the ICU at Christiana hospital.

Her initial injuries included three small brain bleeds, a damaged carotid artery, several fractured bones, and some additional minor injuries.

48 hours later, her brain bleeding stopped and her other injuries began healing. Her sedation medicine was reduced and then ceased, and she was able to briefly respond to the command "give me a thumbs up." Her family and adoring fans high fived her progress with each other.

On Thursday, she had to be sedated for some minor procedures, and on Friday she had surgery on one of her fractured bones - her wrist. Surgery went great and Kat is resting comfortably back in her room. She is still recovery from the sedation and anesthesia, but as that wears off, everyone is hopeful that she'll start to regain her consciousness.

We will continue to update you with her progress.

Stay strong, Kat! We love you.
