9/29 update

More great news about Kat.  :) I received word from many people today that she's been awake and aware.

Here's what Mama and Papa Ford have to say today:

"Kate's improving steadily.  She's awake more, and more awake when she is.  She's interacting more with everyone (apologies to those who catch her asleep). Manual dexterity is much improved on her right.  You might get a hug.  The doc suggested baby toys, so Amber provided a bag full.  (We hope Kate's not insulted.) Angela brought in a bunch of photos, and Kate kissed Tyler's, with a little prompting from Ashley.  That was big one.  Just wanted to say how much Joyce and I value her friends  visiting so much.  It really seems to perk her up.  We think she might go to Bryn Mawr Rehab tomorrow (Fri).  We'll certainly get the word out if that happens."

Stay tuned.  I'll iodate as soon as I hear if Kat has been moved.

Much love to you, Kat!

Kat's Story

Kat was injured in a motorcycle accident on September 12. She's been admitted into the iCU trauma unit at Christiana hospital in critical condition.

Kat is a wonderful woman. She is a devoted mom to her 14 year old son, Tyler. She has a wide array of interests, including motorcycles, tattoos, reggae music, hanging out with friends on the beach, fishing, hiking, being goofy with her friends and family, and taking killer selfies.

This page is dedicated to Kat, as she recovers from her injuries, and is a place for her friends and family to receive information on her progress.

We love you Kat, and we are all here for you as you recover.
