Visiting Kat and other information

Kat is all settled into Bryn Mawr.  She's wearing her regular clothes again, which her mom and I agree must feel really good for her.  Her mom told me that Kat is able to answer yes and no questions with minor head nods and/ or an iPad like thing they gave her with buttons.   The center has planned to do her first therapy session today, for about 1.5 hours today, between now and 2.

As far as visiting goes, Kat's family wanted me to communicate that Kat will be undergoing some pretty rigorous therapy.  The schedule isn't necessarily known until that morning, and visiting hours are significantly shortened at Bryn Mawr than from the ICU / TCU.  Because it's such a long drive and visitors may get all the way there to find out they won't see Kat after all, Kats family is asking that people please schedule some time in advance.  To avoid all many different ancillary texts individually going to The Fords, please email me at mantani24@gmail.com with the subject line: Visiting Kat.   In the body of the email, please remind me your name (I may not know you or I may not recognize your email) and when you want to come visit.   I'll funnel the requests through to her folks.

As a reminder, visiting hours are:
Monday through Friday 4:00–9:00pm
Saturday 12:00–9:00 pm
Sunday 10:00 am–9:00 pm

The center strongly prefers only  2-3 visitors at a time, and they do therapy on Saturdays.  As I mentioned above, her therapy will be rigorous, and she's likely to be very tired afterwards.  Please be mindful of that as you visit.

Thanks everyone, for following.  Have a great weekend, and keep up the good work Kat.

Kat's Story

Kat was injured in a motorcycle accident on September 12. She's been admitted into the iCU trauma unit at Christiana hospital in critical condition.

Kat is a wonderful woman. She is a devoted mom to her 14 year old son, Tyler. She has a wide array of interests, including motorcycles, tattoos, reggae music, hanging out with friends on the beach, fishing, hiking, being goofy with her friends and family, and taking killer selfies.

This page is dedicated to Kat, as she recovers from her injuries, and is a place for her friends and family to receive information on her progress.

We love you Kat, and we are all here for you as you recover.
