9/24 update

I am out of town, but I have gotten some calls and texts about Kat today.  I was waiting for her dad's official update before I posted,

However, before I post his update, I wanted to let everyone know that Kat's been moved 2B14 in the TCU (transitional care unit).  As Steve explained, "the rules here are pretty much the same as in 2A (the ICU)."

Check out Steve's text below:

"A little scare today: Alison came in at 9am to find the new room hot and Kate hot and unresponsive.  Alison [sprang] to action and got her covers off and called the nurse.  They found Kate had low fever and a high heart rate, so took sputum and blood samples, and did a chest x-ray and CT scan.  The results from the last three were good, and the first takes a day or so to culture, so an infection is assumed, and  they started her on a broad-spectrum antibiotic.  She slowly improved all day, eyes opening along the way and eventually we got a thumb's up which provoked a big cheer from the abig cheer from the assembled crowd in her room."

Kat, keep fighting.  We love you so much.

Kat's Story

Kat was injured in a motorcycle accident on September 12. She's been admitted into the iCU trauma unit at Christiana hospital in critical condition.

Kat is a wonderful woman. She is a devoted mom to her 14 year old son, Tyler. She has a wide array of interests, including motorcycles, tattoos, reggae music, hanging out with friends on the beach, fishing, hiking, being goofy with her friends and family, and taking killer selfies.

This page is dedicated to Kat, as she recovers from her injuries, and is a place for her friends and family to receive information on her progress.

We love you Kat, and we are all here for you as you recover.
